Meta has rolled out a new artificial intelligence feature on Facebook called “AI Mode,” and well it’s supposed to shift the whole way people search, kind of, or how they find stuff. The idea is that AI will help generate direct answers using public material that people share on Facebook, like posts , Groups, and even Reels. With this update, you’re not really meant to scroll past a pile of posts or jump through endless search results. Instead, you can ask questions in plain natural language, and then get a quick AI-made summary based on what’s actually being discussed across Facebook. Supposedly it makes searching feel faster, smoother, and more like a conversation , not like digging around.

How AI Mode works on Facebook

AI Mode gathers publicly available content from Facebook, then it gets processed through Meta’s AI system. After that it returns a summarized response to what you ask, by looking at conversations from Groups, individual posts, and those short videos. Meta also seems to have expanded its AI ecosystem with tools that feel inspired by community platforms, so users can engage with information in a more back-and-forth way, kind of interactive but simpler.

Accuracy and reliability concerns

Even if this makes things more convenient, there are still concerns around accuracy. Because the answers are generated from user-created content, there’s always a chance that something outdated, or simply wrong, could show up in the results. Some experts basically say you should still double check important details using more dependable sources.

And along with AI Mode, Facebook has introduced additional creative tools powered by artificial intelligence. These include photo editing features that can swap outfits, adjust hairstyles, and change overall visual style. There are also upgraded video editing options, like smoother transitions and collage effects.
