University of the Punjab, Lahore has announced that all applicants seeking admission to undergraduate programs for the academic year 2026-27 must appear in the mandatory PU Admission Test, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026. The Admission Test carries 25% weightage in the total merit calculation and will be conducted in seven categories based on academic streams: Pre-Engineering (PU-E), Pre-Medical (PU-M), Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences (PU-AHS), ICS with Physics (PU-CSP), ICS with Statistics (PU-CSS), General Science (PU-GS), and Commerce (PU-COM). The test qualifies candidates to apply for various programs when admission notices are advertised separately, and previous year’s test results are not valid for new admissions.

Who Can Apply: Students who have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent / Grade 12 education, OR students who have appeared in the final examination of HSSC or equivalent and are awaiting results.

Engineering Programs: PU Admission Test is mandatory as per PEC Regulations; scores of E-CAT (UET) or NUST Test are also acceptable.

LLB Programs: Both LAT (Law Admission Test) and PU Admission Test are mandatory.

College of Art & Design: PU Admission Test is mandatory along with a separate Drawing/Aptitude Test conducted at the college.

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D): MDCAT or PU Admission Test is valid.

How to Apply University of Punjab ?
To apply for the PU Admission Test, candidates must register online through the official admission portal at http://admissiontest.pu.edu.pk. Download the fee challan (available only through the PU Admission Portal) and deposit the non-refundable test fee of PKR 2,500/- at any branch of HBL, UBL, or through Mobile Banking via 1 Bill. After payment, upload the proof of payment image on the portal to complete the application process. The last date for online registration is May 25, 2026.
