Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) in partnership with the School Education Department (SED) GB is implementing the Gilgit Baltistan Education Fellows project to improve children’s access to quality education, enhance education governance, and involve communities in schools across Gilgit-Baltistan. Through a Consortium led by AKU with LUMS, KIU, and Knowledge Platform, a grant has been received from the GB Government to hire and train 1254 Education Fellows in public sector educational institutions in GB. Applications are invited from eligible candidates holding domiciles of the specified Union Councils to serve as contract-based Education Fellows in government educational institutions (schools and colleges) until 30th June 2026. Selected candidates will be placed across various districts including Astore, Diamer, Ghanche, Ghizer, Gilgit, Hunza, Kharmang, Nagar, Skardu, and Shigar to fill critical teaching positions in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English, Computer Science, and Early Childhood Education.
Eligibility Criteria

Domicile: Candidates must possess the domicile of the respective Union Council as specified for each position (not just district level)

For Secondary Schools: Preference for candidates having 16 years (or higher) education in the subjects mentioned against the positions

For Middle and Primary Schools: Preference for candidates having 14 years (or higher) education in the subjects mentioned against the positions

For College and Special Education Positions: Minimum Master’s degree in relevant subjects with district domicile

Hard Areas: Candidates with 12 years education (preferably FSc) will be considered only for Primary Schools in designated ‘hard areas’

Relevant Subjects: Where needed, candidates with relevant subjects (e.g., from among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) will be considered for middle and secondary schools
